Gochali
Gochali is a Tharu-language magazine which began publishing in Dang in 1972. It was started with a view to promoting and protecting Tharu identity, language, religion and cultural traditions. One of the main objectives of the magazine is to raise awareness among the Tharu population of their rights. Gochali is the Tharu word for ‘friend.’ At the request of the Gochali editorial team, Digital Himalaya has started scanning back issues of the publication to encourage wider distribution and an online readership.
