Journal of the Tibet Society
The Journal of the Tibet Society is a publication of the Tibet Society, founded and incorporated as a non-profit organisation in 1966. Since its inception, the Tibet Society has published a periodical, first the Tibet Society Newsletter (from 1967), then the Tibet Society Bulletin (from 1969) and finally the Journal of the Tibet Society from 1981 onwards. This periodical was established to answer the long-felt need for a specialised periodical devoted to the highest standards of scholarship in the field of Tibetan Studies. Edited by Christopher I. Beckwith and Elliot Sperling at Indiana University, eight volumes of the journal have been published between 1981 and 1988. Together with the Tibetan and Himalayan Digital Library, Digital Himalaya is co-hosting this important scholarly journal on its journal pages.
